Metamorfosis organizacionales del cambio tecnológico: integración de sistemas informáticos en una organización de salud colombiana

dc.description.abstractEl propósito de este artículo es caracterizar las metamorfosis organizacionales que emergen en un cambio tecnológico, específicamente cuando una organización de salud crea un nuevo sistema informático. La investigación toma como guía el concepto de metamorfosis para analizar las transformaciones en la integración de un sistema informático para historias clínicas en una institución prestadora de servicios de salud (ips) ubicada en Medellín, Colombia. Para ello, se realizó un estudio de caso interpretativo con entrevistas semiestructuradas a profesionales asistenciales de distintas áreas de la organización, personal de apoyo en tecnologías de información y personal directivo y administrativo. Se identificaron tres metamorfosis organizacionales derivadas de la integración del sistema informático: 1) las competencias y conocimientos del personal, 2) los roles y flujos de comunicación, y 3) los controles de trabajo y la gestión de la información. Como conclusión, se plantea que los cambios organizacionales tecnológicos están situados, reconfiguran el contenido del trabajo, dan forma a interacciones sociales y marcos estructurales y, en las organizaciones de salud, posicionan nuevas formas de entender el rol del cuidado y de la atención médica. dc.description.abstract: This paper seeks to characterize the organizational metamorphoses emerging in a technological change process, specifically when a new computer system is created in a health organization. The research adopts the concept of metamorphosis in order to examine the transformations in the integration of a computerized system for medical records in a health service institution in the city of Medellín, Colombia. For that purpose, an interpretive case study was performed using semi-structured interviews with healthcare professionals from different areas of the organization, information technology support personnel, and managerial and administrative staff. Three organizational metamorphoses derived from the integration of this computer system were identified: i) skills and knowledge of staff, ii) roles and communication flows, and ii) work controls and information management. This study allows concluding that technological organizational changes are present, rearrange the content of work, shape social interactions and structural frameworks, and, in the case of health organizations, establish new ways of understanding the role of care and medical assistance. dc.description.abstracto propósito deste artigo é caracterizar as metamorfoses organizacionais que emergem em uma mudança tecnológica, especificamente quando uma organização de saúde cria um sistema informático. A pesquisa usa como guia o conceito de metamorfose para analisar as transformações na integração de um sistema informático para prontuários clínicos em uma instituição prestadora de serviços de saúde localizada em Medellín, na Colômbia. Para isso, realizou-se um estudo de caso interpretativo com entrevistas semiestruturadas com profissionais assistenciais de diferentes áreas da organização, pessoal de apoio em tecnologias de informação e pessoal dirigente e administrativo. Foram identificadas três metamorfoses organizacionais derivadas da integração do sistema informático: 1) as competências e conhecimentos do pessoal, 2) os papéis e os fluxos de comunicação e 3) os controles de trabalho e a gestão da informação. Como conclusão, propõe-se que as mudanças organizacionais tecnológicas estão situadas, reconfiguram o conteúdo do trabalho, dão forma a interações sociais e âmbitos estruturais e, nas organizações de saúde, posicionam novas formas de entender o papel do cuidado e do atendimento médico. dc.description.abstractLe but de cet article est de caractériser les métamorphoses organisationnelles qui émergent lors d'un changement technologique, notamment lorsqu'une organisation de santé crée un nouveau système informatique. La recherche s'inspire du concept de métamorphose pour analyser les transformations dans l'intégration d'un système informatisé de dossiers médicaux dans un établissement de services de santé (IPS) situé à Medellín, en Colombie. Pour cela, une étude de cas interprétative a été réalisée avec des entretiens semi-structurés avec des professionnels de santé de différents secteurs de l'organisation, du personnel de soutien informatique et du personnel de direction et administratif. Trois métamorphoses organisationnelles issues de l'intégration du système informatique ont été identifiées: 1) les compétences et connaissances du personnel, 2) les rôles et flux de communication, et 3) les contrôles de travail et la gestion de l'information. En conclusion, on constate que les changements organisationnels technologiques sont situés, reconfigurent le contenu du travail, façonnent les interactions sociales et les cadres structurels et, dans les organisations de santé, valorisent de nouvelles façons de comprendre le rôle des soins et des services médicaux.
